My Disco II clock stopped lighting today and I assume it is the bulb. Is this something I can change myself? How do I get in there to the bulb? Thanks for any help, Jamil |

Yep, you can change it yourself but its fun, The clock just levers out (I know you wont beleive me) Its bloody tight though and you'll mark the front if you try and lever it I fed arm in from above glove box (mines a right hooker) and pushed from behind, It really felt like something was going snap (probably my arm) when it poped out. There are 4 clips around its edge Once out swapping the bulb is obvious and easy but its one of those fidlly push and twist jobs |

Stephen, I tried popping it out yesterday and didn't get anywhere. If I can't get it I'll wait for the dealer to do it when I bring the car in for an oil change.

Hi Jamil Best bet is to use something flat and thin, like a metal paint scraper, and insert in the gap and wiggle it out. I have heard people using credit cards, not sure about that one though. Pete s |

I watched the serv mgr in Tulsa do this a few weeks ago. He used a pair of sheet metal paddles about 4" square made from an old license plate someone had flattened the stamping out of - he shoved one in on top and the in other along the bottom and oushed and wiggled around till I hear a snap and then the whole bank clock unit fell out into his hand. Slickest quickest fix of any LR deal. |

I fixed it somehow...I started the car so the AC world work, way too hot here. I then took a large screwdriver and tried popping it out from the bottom...after some scary creaks the light came back on and seems to work just fine now. I guess something was just loose yet I didn't even get anything popped off. Thanks for the help, Jamil |
