Can you guys and gals check your D1 headlights for me? I have a '95 D1. The PO removed the front bumper and installed a $G bumper. Consequently the front side marker lights in the bumper disappeared. Currently when I flip the light switch stalk to the 2nd position--what would normally be parking lights--there is instead a "dipped beam" arrangment--a small light comes on inside the headlight, but it is not the full illumination. I never thought this was legal in the U.S. I took a look at the lights and they are made by Carello. Does anyone else have this setup or are these some kind of Euro Disco lights? If I had a digital camera I would post pics. I'm just learning all about my new Disco. Thanks for any info! Chris Robyn San Francisco '95 D1 '88 RR |

Chris, from your description your headlights are working properly. When the parking lights are turned on the headlights look as if they are back lit (they look like they are very dim). The amber lights don't come on. Chris '96 D1 |

IF you go digging around you will find the connection for the amber light. Two choices if you want to have amber lights as well 1: Drill hole in turn signal and insert 2: Get tail/brake light socket "cut and paste" the wires turn signal and the wire from the amber light, into that socker install a dual filament bulb and bingo |

Chris, That's correct - they are referred to as "city lights" and are standard in NAS Disco's Bill |
