My apologies if this is a stupid question... but I don't have any Hella's to look at. I just took the air dam & fog lights out of my 96 D1 SE7. So... I have the connetion sitting in with my headlights. Is it good for anything? Does it hook up to a Hella connector? If not, is there an adapter? Is all that wiring useless, with the exception of the switch itself? Also... my other question was attaching Hella directly to the stock (trimmed) front bumper. How's this work/look? What lights would you recommend? Anybody got pics? Last, this is not likely, but just a thought... has anyone put lights on the front of the 3 roof rails? Thanks a lot! |

You can splice 2 (55 watt) lights directly into the fog light wiring harness; since that is what the original wiring harness is rated for. Anything larger will require that you run another relay (30 amp) for the lights. To my knowledge, there is no after market connector to plug directly into the fog light connector (other than cutting the one off your old lights or getting something of a wrecked disco). So, you will have to splice the wires. Be sure to seal up the splice since the connection will probably be getting wet often. Thanks, Mike B. |

Thanks Mike, I am going to re-post since I had more questions than just wiring, and people didn't seem to interested in this one. Thanks again. |

The Hella 500s have 55w bulbs. Does this mean that I could splice those in? Thanks. |
