I have a 98 with corrosion that my Scarborough ME dealer is going to spend a week fixing soon. Rear door entry, bubbling around tail lights passanger door frame and so forth. My question is how do they go about killing this corrosion so it isn't just covered up with paint and come back to haunt me in three more years when my 6 year warranty is up? Are they actually going to disassemble teh body parts and get at the root of the rust? I'm curious about this? |

I just had my 98 Disco done they told me the only way to do it right was to replace the door latch post. Even though my dealer was only going to "patch" it up and refused to replace the post. I insisted on them replacing the post.(at my cost) It cost me an extra $600 but I think it was worth it. New post in and while the body shop was at it I had them fill and seal the gap that was originally there, where the rust started from. |

mine is leaking rust from under the sill at the rear cargo door where the trim threshold goes across. It looks like a drain kink in the body panel. Also, about the latch area of the passenger doors. WOnder how long the waranty on their "repair" work might be??? |
