What years were the manual transmissions offered in the N.A. Disco ('94-'99)? How many manual transmission Disco's were sold during the years offered?

Any help would be appreciated:-)

I'm not 100%, but I think they were in the 94-96 Disco's. Don't know how many.

You could get them in very limited numbers as late as 1998.

My boss drives a 1998 50th edition Discos and it's got a manual transmission.

He said they had to wait for several weeks as the dealer had to locate one for them.

I have a '96 manual. Not 100% either but I think Will is right. I do know that if you are looking for one, you should probably go for a '96. I think the 95's and 94's had some quirks (mostly electrical I think) that were addressed in the '96 and later years.

I have a 96' manual. I know that there are a lot more 94' through 96' 5 speeds, than 97' and I have never seen a 98'. The 94' and 95's have a distributor and not GEMS (engine management). My 96' had valve trouble and a dropped cylinder sleeve at 39k miles, and I recently had to replace the engine. The GEMS engines were given better valves and tuned better in 98 and 99. A clean, well maintained 94 or 95 will last longer than a GEMS 96 or 97, before needing work, in my opinion. My GEMS system had a chip added so the new engine would run leaner and keep the carbon build up off the valves. I don't think 94's and 5's should be overlooked just because they're older. Dave
