Okay, bear with me! Is the clock on a '97 D1 a sealed unit? Or does it use a bulb for illumination? Lastly, how do you get the clock out of the dash? Thanks in advance!

Another clock question:
On my 2000 Disco is it normal that the digital clock on the dash doesn't light up like the other instruments when the lights are on? talk about annoying!

With motor off it doesn't light up.
With motor on lights full up.
With motor and lights on , an atenuator makes it light medium power up.

So if the hour number in the clock is not working, is that the bulb, or do I need a new clock?

If it's your hour number and only that, you need a new clock. I had the same problem. E-mail a junkyard like rover cannibal or someplace like that. I got mine for $40 from a place in NJ. I forgot the name.

$10 for a bulb ??

I bought one for £1.30 recently ($2-ish) for my clock backlight - yes, the one embedding in the plastic housing.

Matt.
