I want to do this over the weekend on my 97 Disco, what do I have to loosen to remove the old belt and does anyone have a routing diagram so I can get the new one on? Thanks |

All you need is a 17mm wrench to slack the tensioner. Slip the old belt off, route the new one and then slack the tensioner again and slip it over. Done. Damn you get alot of mileage out of one picture Garrett!? LOL Bill |

1-tensioner 2-AC Compressor 3-Alternator 4-Water Pump 5-PS pump 6-Engine Now the gap between 4 and 6 is tiny. So route your new belt as best you can and if it won't slip between the two pulleys, get underneath and twist the belt so the smooth side is down and the ridges are on top. Angle the belt up and towards the roof of the truck and it will slip in place. I've also had success kinking the belt and threading it in between the water pump and the main pulley. Good luck.
