I recently bought a new LR Disco II which I love. Except for one thing: the brake and gas pedals are relatively close together and on nearly the same horizontal plane. On several occasions, this alignment has caused me to put pressure on the gas pedal when I want to stop the vehicle. As the car continues to move forward (or backward), it takes me a couple of seconds to realize what's happening and to slide my foot to the left and off the gas. By contrast, on almost all other vehicles I've driven over the years, the gas pedal is a couple inches below the plane of the brake, thus eliminating the problem I'm experiencing.

Each time this has happened, I've stopped in time, but it scares the - - - - out of me. I've talked with the service techs at Land Rover East and to LR headquarters but they all say there's nothing they can do. There must be a fix. Any ideas??

I just came from LR Denver East, new coil wire.

Anyway, do they have risers (for short people)? Most mfgs do, you could just put the one on the brake pedal...or make your own.

my girlfriend has said the same thing about my '96. she is a size 7/8 shoe and i am 13/14 and have no issues. ???? i think you will just get use to it in time. proper heel placement will solve it in time i am guessing.
