do you have to buy a special adapter for the obd 2 scanner or is the generic serial adapter the start you with the same in the discovery |

a little confused by the question? but, yes, the plug that is connected to the scan tool will work on any generic OBDII plug (provided it is an OBDII scanner).? when you buy an OBDII scanner or software package, it will come with correct cord, one side for the OBDII (vehicle) the other end the serial side (for either a laptop or PDA). does that help? marc |

you can mount your OBD II reader on the dash next to your GPS for real-time code-pulling. heehee. seriously you can save $150 and have autozone read and (most guys will) clear for free. cheers, carl |
