Ok,I'm going to go with a bigger tire but is there a certain way that people cut there rear and front panels with out it looking like a hack job?
Is there a template?+ike the Safari Snorkle.btw...very e-z install
Fer the people that have cut there wells where did you find the information on the amount to cut away and what wheel flairs should I use after I do the cutting?
After the cutting is done how big of a tire can be mounted on the disco 1 stock rims?

Alex,
I haven't needed to trim the front at all, and I run 265/75/R16's. The back part of the rear fender had to be trimmed though. There's a "fender trimming" piece in the tech section, that's what I used and it looks great. With all the correct measurements, a dremel (with cutting disc), file, tape, marker, and a steady hand, you should have no problem.
Matt

The area you cut is not very visible, as it is an inside lip. Even hack jobs look decent.

Alexander, what i did - i found out size i wanted - 235x85/16, then i got tires, then i put Disco on stands, got wheels off, drove to Wallmart, put tires on wheels, then drove home , stick new stuff on and then figured out how much trim i needed.

To figure how much trim you need - just turn your wheels left/right while vehicle moves a bit.
That will sort out your on-road trim.
To sort out off-road trim - easiest way to use one of them small ramps from auto-zone (they are mighty handy for lots of things anyway - cool to have). Just rolls sequentially wheels on one of them - they will give you about 10" of travel in wheel well - somewhat good idea where your wheels will go while on trails :-)

How did you drive to Walmart with your wheels off? Must have been one hell of a rough ride!
