Maybe someone can help me. Yesterday I was driving on a dirt road and the vehicle took some jarring, nothing major but some upon which the anti lock light has lit and remained lit until today. I searched the archives and cannot find anything. The truck runs perfect and the brakes feel fine, and its not stuck in park either (I have had that happen though). Does anyone have any idea, or know if this should concern me. Thanks for any help that can be offered |

Ok. well does anyone have some further direction since none other was given. I still cannot find much in the archives and telling me the sensor is out of range unfortunately was not enough to help me out. Thanks though, any other help would be greatly appreciated |

Brett, The same thing happened to me last weekend. When you start the vehicle the ABS system will auto diagnose, if something is not right it will remain on. Mud or dirt in the ABS sensor may cause this problem, which was my case. If not, you will have to take it to the dealer since the system is telling that something is not right. Hope this helps and good luck, Pedro

You may hate to hear this but I had found that post. The thing was I did not want to just reset it if people thought it was potentially a more serious problem. Seeing as your a lounge member and I'm just an amateur discoweber and offroader I guess you'd say, I thought some advice from here may be a good idea. Sorry for any incovenience. |

Bill suggested to you what the most likely problem is based on your description of the problem, and pointed you to the solution, what more do you want? If that is not sufficient to you, perhaps you would be better off just taking your truck to the nearest dealership. - Axel

i just did a diagnostic on our rover and came up with this. front sensor with too large air gap, faulty stop light switch, rear sensor wiring with intermittened fault. it was as easy as one two three to diagnose. and to boot a garage quoted me around $4000.00 to fix. telling me it was the valve block and abs pump. i think ill fix her my self! oh ya and these newer rovers arnt that hard to fix and find problems. im use to the series. i think that all this electrical scares people a bit. anyhow good bye & hello run on paragraph. |

just try reseating those sensors. My antilock light came on intermittently about a month ago, then went off and stayed off. I haven't had the chance to reseat my sensors yet, but on Saturday my abs kicked in on level, dry asphalt, and my lack of braking power pushed me right out into oncoming traffic where I almost got t-boned. There was a post not too long ago about how someone ignored his antilock light (like me) and rear ended someone. So don't ignore your dash lights! Until I can check my sensors, I just yanked the abs fuse to eliminate this damn bit of "high technology". |

I have my ABS, TC and HDC lights on due to a supposely bad abs sensor in the front. however, last night I was playing with the front right tire and it looked like the sensor came off the little guides that hold the sensor wire. I did not put back in place because the space is very reduced. Do I have to remove the brake assembly in order to put it back? Also, since the ABS light came on, the TC and the HDC are not operating properly. will they be back to normal when I resolve the ABS problem? the braking does feel funny in thight situations!!
