Keyless Entry Question

Just wondering is the dealer the only place to get them programmed or is there a way to do it myself ?? If the remote is for a '96 thru '99 DI, try talking to the service mechanics themselves or even ask the service manager if they can program it for you.....once in a while being nice and asking can get some things done for free.
