Have a 97 Disco and want to get additional remotes and found several on ebay. Just wondering is the dealer the only place to get them programmed or is there a way to do it myself ??
Thanks in advance .

For a 97 if I recall correctly you need either a dealer or someone with a testbook (dealer high dollar computer programing tool for Land Rovers).

If the remote is for a '96 thru '99 DI, try talking to the service mechanics themselves or even ask the service manager if they can program it for you.....once in a while being nice and asking can get some things done for free.

If all else fails offer the mechanic a 12 pack of their favorite beverage :-)

It is either that or pay $40 to $60 dollars for them to do it.
