The first link would be everything you would need. The second link, not sure why they listed two each on the mufflers...if you want that one, then call and order. This could save you time money and a big headache. Personnelly I would just go to your local muffler shop and talk to them. They probably can replace the muffler with a free flowing one and still keep the resinator or put one back on for less money than you would be spending on this set up. Also remember that depending on the quality of the stainless steel it may still rust or if it is using thin stainless it may even be louding that stock. Just my .02 worth |

5{ converters (the Y pipe) where it connects to the very first muffler down the line seems to be mangled where it connects. does this mean i need a new cat system? will the new muffler system connect to the catalytic converters without leaking? |

The system your looking at is a OEM bolt on system. It should bolt on directly to the flange off of the Cat "Y" pipe and can be bolted on without any leaks provided the flange is still good. If the flange is bad then you can either take it to a muffler shop to replace the flange or have them weld or clamp the new muffler on to the "Y" pipe. Depending on where your at, shipping can get pretty expensive because it's a oversize package. You might just want to go to a local muffler shop and have them look at it and you might find that it could be a lot cheaper than buying the mufflers and then having to put it on. A universal muffler with a resonator should run you about 200 - 250 dollars installed at a local muffler shop. You said you didn't want anything loud, but believe it or not a magnaflow with the stock 2 1/4" pipes and no resonator is not very loud and you'll get increased performance for about the same price.

Damien No those are the gaskets that go between the flanges. Most muffler shops can get you the flanges, they are just 2 1/4 two bolt flanges, but they will have to reflair the pipe for you. I would still suggest that you go to your local muffler shop and just have them install either a universal muffler and resonator or a magnaflow muffler. You'd be surprised how quiet it can be and get you increased performance. I'll bet the cost will be about the same as if you bought the system and you still have to have it installed. |
