My Boddy has a '96 D1 that will not start. We replaced the Fuel Filter, checked the Fuel Pump and then tested to see if we have a spark. Nothing. I tried 3 different plugs to see if anyhting would happen but got nothing. Now I am familiar with Distibutor cap but this does not seem to have one. Can anyone shed some light/ Knowledge and possily guide me as to whihc parts maybe bad and how to test it. I have checked the Spark Flug wires with a screwdriver and still had no spark.. I am really at a loss. Thanks, RK |

What work was done to the truck before it decided not to start? Why? |

Need more information. 96 has no distributor. Does it crank? Does it not fire at all? What exactly happens when you/your buddy turn the key in the ignition? Is there other power (lights, dash idiot lights, open door warning tone, radio), or is the truck utterly dead? Post some more and people can and will help. |

Thanks Guys, When you turn the key it does turn over but does not start. The battery seems fine i.e (Radio Works, Lights work, PWR Windows and such. No idiot light comes on telling us why this is happening. Before it decided not to start he went out of town for 4 days leaving it sitting. He came back and drove it for 2 days with no problems. Then he came out saturday morning and it would not start. All I can figure is that the problem lies with a fuel or spark issue. We checked the fuel pump and that seems to be working fine, replaced the fuel filter and there was fuel in there. Pulled the spark plugs and they look normal but could not get a spark out of then we turned the key. Everything sounds normal when trying to start but it just does not ignite. Any help will be appreciated. |

Inertia switch? Look on the rear firewall on the passenger side for a little "plunger" switch next to the washer reservoir. Push down on the rubber top until you feel the switch click. Then try again...??? |

Thanks Andrew, I forgot to mention we checked that as well. Also we doubled checked the fuel shut off on the passenger side kick panel inside the disco. |
