1316 means you have a misfire condition with unburned fuel going into the catalysts. 1316 misfire, if not fixed, will lead to catalyst meltdown. It suggests sticking valves or ignition misfire |

speed sensor failure does not produce this fault because the speed sensor causes the ecu to switch off fuel supply to the injectors. No fuel does not produce 1316. Ignition failure with fuel present causes this fault. |

john, quit why your ahead and check the suggestions that have been given. start with the misfire- "ignition failure with fuel present" then on to your valves. marc |

speedo related to your alt. issue. start with your spark plugs and work back. don't immediately think it's a sensor or some mysterical computer component, get back to the basics. plugs, wires, coil packs etc... did you recently change the alt? if so check this thread por board it's seems that mike had similar issues due to the incorrect alt. marc |

no i didn't change the alt. but they put the belt on wrong and all sorts or crap was happening and after i put it on right checked the code and reset it nothing bad has happened since i have my power back and no misfiring thats why i was asking if the alt could do it |
