Injector Circuit / IDM Codes Detected
this is the code i got after i thought the vss was acting up "the gas cutting out while driving" is this code linked to the vss or is it something else.

1316 means you have a misfire condition with unburned fuel going into the catalysts. 1316 misfire, if not fixed, will lead to catalyst meltdown.

It suggests sticking valves or ignition misfire

what causes these problems it did this in a vss type situation

speed sensor failure does not produce this fault because the speed sensor causes the ecu to switch off fuel supply to the injectors. No fuel does not produce 1316. Ignition failure with fuel present causes this fault.

how about an alt belt on wrong and not producing enough charge

john,
quit why your ahead and check the suggestions that have been given. start with the misfire- "ignition failure with fuel present" then on to your valves.

what do you look at first that is causing a misfire is there a sensor or something i should goto first and why did the speedo quit the same time this all happened

speedo related to your alt. issue.
start with your spark plugs and work back.
don't immediately think it's a sensor or some mysterical computer component, get back to the basics. plugs, wires, coil packs etc...
did you recently change the alt? if so check this thread por board
it's seems that mike had similar issues due to the incorrect alt.

no i didn't change the alt. but they put the belt on wrong and all sorts or crap was happening and after i put it on right checked the code and reset it nothing bad has happened since i have my power back and no misfiring thats why i was asking if the alt could do it
