the check engine light on my 95 D1 came on today

its showing a code 50. i checked the explanation and saw this:

Code 50 - Misfire bank B - right bank
If either fault code 40 or 50 is displayed check components applicable to the particular bank that the misfire has occurred on.
Spark plugs
HT leads
Distributor cap

question... what the heck is a "HT leads"???

Hope this helps.

Hi
The trouble is the automobile has been with us now for about a 100 years, and some terms have stuck.

Older mechanics have a whole different language, and toolkit!

Ken back to your question. The answer, in english, is.....Your truck had a burp. It's the same burp on both sides of the ocean. Something did not click in the truck and it kicked on the light. Reset it and forget it for now. If it comes back on then start to worry. Mine did it about a year ago, never seen the code again.
