Peter, As far as I know, the SRS light has to be reset by the dealer (or a shop with the appropriate computer). Sorry, -Eugene |

Well if you lucky it can be reset by disconnecting battery for a night. Thats is in case if nothing went wrong with system itself. If you not - then you facing either coughing up about 200$ (i was quoted 173$ by one of sites) to reset damn thing. Or you can just wave hand and forget about it (thats what i done at the moment, as i am not even sure that bag itself is in there - bought rig with SRS light on) |

Eugene is correct you have to take it to the dealer.... during "extended repair" stints i've had my battery disconnected for up to 2 1/2 weeks... and that DAMN light never went away.... |

And, if you're very unlucky, you can have your dealer charge you that $173 and tell you that "the computer wouldn't even connect to the truck to reset the light." I bought it with SRS light on, have driven it for 2+ years with it on, and quit caring. The way I see it, I'll be delivering the brunt of any collision I'm likely to get into, and won't need the airbag -- if survival comes down to an airbag I'll already be in pretty rough shape as it is! |
