Fellow Dwebbers... Thought I would pump the well of knowledge one more time and see what comes up. What would the ramifications be of wiring another set of driving lights into the existing foglight power and ground wires. Can this wiring support two sets of 55W lamps (4 lamps total)? Do I need to install in inline fuse to compensate for the additional power used? Should this be avoided all together? Any relevant input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -Luke |

You should be fine wiring one pair of 55w driving lights in instead of the fog lights. If you are asking to install them along with the fog lights, or 2 sets of 55w lights, then I would advise against that. |

i'm with rans on this one. the factory wiring is just sufficient. i wired 55w lights to my factory wiring and it blew the factory fog relay anyway. i'd say spend the extra time and wire them yourself. see the tech section for a few different wiring setups. cheers, carl |

I was trying to get out of the deal without having to wire anything. Lazy, NO! Crunched for time, you damn right! I already replaced my stock fogs with Hella 500's spots, no problems there. But, bought another set of fogs to substitute for the old stockers and was hoping to get them up and running the easy way. Welp, out to the drive way with the wire strippers, drill, and a wiring diagram. You guys helped me with a question that I already knew the answer to, just needed some reinforcement. Regards, Luke |

I have run 2 Hella 4K's with 100 watt bulbs off of my stock fog harness for a few years now without blowing anything, but results may vary. If I were to run a second set off foglights off the same circuit, I would use the existing circuit to trigger a new relay. You would not be able to have the two sets of lights operate independently that way, though. For your setup, I would run the new set of foglights off the existing circuit, then run a new circuit for the spots and have them come on with the high beams. - Axel

Axel, Good idea about the spots coming on with the high beams and fogs running with the standard lights. I will have to talk with a few friends who are more in "the know" than I am regarding electrical wiring, so I am sure it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the suggestion, Luke |
