Hello, I made a huge mistake by not marking the HT lead positions on the distributor cap when I changed them. I know the firing order is 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2 The things I don't know is -looking at the engine bay from the front is 1 3 5 7 on the left hand side? -where is no 1 on the distributor cap? -is the order anticlockwise or clockwise? Please help. Thanks |

I don't claim to be an expert, but I won't insult you-at least not right now. The distributor turns clockwise. To determine which is number one, remove the front spark plug on the left of the engine, place your finger over the hole, crank until you feel pressure... Remove distributor cap. Attach number one plug wire to the tower to which the rotor is pointing and follow the firing order from there. Next time, when you pull the wires off, mark the top of the distributor cap with a sharpie where the number one wire came from. Peace, Paul |

Sorry Peter, I've been consulting on QS 9000 and ISO 14001 for the last few weeks and it's getting to me. Auditing and implementation are enough to give a man nightmares! I asked the wife if the love note she left me last night was in document control and had the appropriate approval signatures:-). |
