has anyone done this? how difficult was it? can someone list the parts needed or email me a scan out of the workshop manual? I would greatly appreciate it! |

Derek, if you ask your dealer, they will tell you it can't be done. That's because the 7-seaters came with SLS if I'm not mistaken. The easiest way is to find a donor (wrecked) 7-seater and just swap out the parts. When I first got my '00 5-seater, I called RPM Cars in FL. They deal in salvaged high-end vehicles. They would supply the parts and install for approx. $1K. To me, that's not too bad of a deal. Check them out at rpmcar.com. Ask for Chuck. |

I actually called the dealer already, they said they would do it, no problem, for about $2500! that's why I want to do it myself. I don't imagine it would be too hard, I just need a diagram of all the parts needed. |

the bigger issue is that the 7 seaters have a different rear floor (on a D2), which hold the locks for the seats. on a D1 its an easy swap as the seats dont lock to anything. |

are you sure about this? that means the dealer was going to put in a new rear floor in the $2500 I was quoted??? |

Derek I would be cautious as well, double check with the dealer. I was interested in the same for my DII and was also told by two dealers it was not possible, they said non 7 seat discos are not set up to except the seats or the headrests. Let my know if you find out anything other. Peter |

I have a DII with the rear seat the rear floor is indeed different. Thats not to say when you pull up your carpet that there aren't caps covering the latch points. Also the 7 seaters come with SLS you can forego that and rear AC. The AC unit is on the drivers side jump seat. the passanger seat just replaces the stock cargo bin but there might be a issue with the drivers side one. also even if the head rest don't work I wouldn't worry about it. The dealer probly says it can't be done because to do it right would mean Rear seats, AC unit, SLS airbag suspension, new headliner, headrests and radio controls. But I think you could the seats in there. Also the rear quarter panels the plastic ones are different because the seats latch when in the folded position. Don't let this discourage I'm sure it can be done but it will take some work |

ok, too much hassle for me. I didn't know so much went into 7 seater with a D2. the D1 I have is so simple. I was only doing this to sell the D2, as EVERYONE who calls me wants 7 seats! |
