I recently purchased an 02 disco and found that when I turn the wheel (especially left) It makes a very audible "pop". Anyone had this problem? If so, what was it? The dealer couldn't tell. They tried tightening everything in the front end(It didn't help). Next they tried to say that something inside the frame was loose. So... they put a bolt through the frame and tightened it "real tight". Didn't Sound like factory repair work to me... |

disco's sometimes have a prolem with scroll plates in the frame "popping". sounds like that is what they were after with the bolt. ( the location of the scroll plate is behind the front wheel just where the frame bends for the staight run under your vehicle). It is usually more of a weight transfer vice a steering issue though. there is a tsb for the rear scroll plates. |
