Dealer says I can't order just the screws and rivinuts for the ladder.

Anyone know what I need or where to get them?

Thanks

Yeah, you need rivnuts! :)

There's a gun, like a rivet-gun, but made for rivnuts. Has attachments that let you use different sizes of rivnuts. POP! Rivnut's in. Then, just use screws. The place that carries the rivnut gun should have the rivnuts for sale. Check your local shops, you should have something resembling a machine-shop/fabricators supply house nearby.

Try www.roverconnection.com for the genuine fitting kit. But if you don't have a rivet nut gun that fits the threads of the hardware...

I bought a rivet nut gun from JCWhitney and it came with a nice assortment of steel and alum rivet nuts. My local hardware joint had the rest. Good luck.

Most of the LR dealers carry some extra rivnuts on hand in case they lose some in the installation of their customers ladders and light guards. If they tell you they dont carry any they are prob lying. I walked in to the Austin dealership and after a little heckling they brought me out six of them, free of charge. The screws you can prob get at a harware store. Try to get your hands on a riv-gun, they make things very fast and easy.

Wes,

Don't remember the part number, but it cost about $25 I think. It came with 3 different mandrels to suit 3 sizes of riv nut. Improvise!

I installed a genuine ladder on my DII & used the directions on EE from John Lee with the home made rivnut tool & worked perfectly. I would not use sheet metal screws the metal is rather thin & I would be worried the screw would strip in such thin material.
