How do you tell if your fuel pump is bad or if the regulator is bad? If I am getting low pressure which is more likely? Thanks, EricRat |

Low pressure is more likely the pump. The regulator generally limits the pumping of the fuel pump to keep pressures reasonable at the fuel rail. -P |

put a pressure gauge on the schrader fitting on the rail. At idle it should show ~30psi. Disconnect the vacuum lead from the regulator, it should show ~37 psi. refit vacuum line. check pressure doesnt drop below 30 under load. if it doesnt meet above, check when fuel filter was last replaced. If meets above, pump should be ok. jp |

Thanks, I put a gauge on in the Autozone parking lot and read 20 psi at idle. I ordered a pump. Thanks, Eric p.s. Nathan, as always, rocks. |
