My wife and I recently purchased a 97 Disco, we took it out for it's first long trip this weekend and had some problems with the speedometer reseting itself, we were driving along and the needle would go to zero and then reset to the actual speed. The whole thing took no longer than maybe a second, but I am wondering if this is a recurring problem. |

Was your tach bouncing as well? Could be the signs of your aternator and/or voltage regulator going bad. Check with NAPA,Schucks...... they should be able to test the alt. for you. If that's the problem, look into having it rebuilt ($100 or less) or buy an aftermarket ($150 to $350). BTW, OEM from the dealer runs $700 to $800. |

Mine gets stuck if i go in rev, and will come back to life if i stop on the gas quick. Its item # 36 on my fixit list. Welcome to the world of Land Rovers. |

The speed sensor on the side of your transfer case is either bad or needs cleaning.....that will solve your problem. |

Thanks, Its up there on the fix it list i do have a few sensors around. Ill try that this weekend |
