All right, how the f*&k do you remove the gear shift knob. I tried the "pull straight up, without twisting" method and mine won't budge... Frank |

Frank, It should. I have a '99 DII and was curious about how hard it was to remove the other day. I keep hearing that they are a pain so I wound up pretty good and nearly threw the thing out the sunroof. Wouldn't have been a problem except that I got the impulse to try while I was sitting in a parking lot waiting for my wife. After tearing the thing off I looked up and she was almost back to the car. It goes back on very quickly. Anyway, mine is obviously not the norm but it does come off "straight up, without twisting". Rick |

Frank, make sure it's in Drive when you try removing it. You have to pull VERY hard, but it will come off. Just don't lean over it while pulling for obvious reasons. |
