Are they worth the $8-9? These are the ones that come in sealed pull-ring cans (although not really sure why they do this). Dean |

No, they are crap like every other non-racing Fram filter on the market. If you want to spend big money on a good filter buy a Mobil 1 filter or a Purolator PureOne. The Fram comes in that pull can so you can't see that it's exactly the same damn thing EXACTLY as the PH16 or PH8A that are specified for our trucks. Our short filter crosses to a PH16 and the long to a PH8A. If you just HAVE to have a Fram, buy the HP1 which is their racing filter in our thread size (3/4 x 16 tpi). Mobil part # is M1-301, PureOne is L30001. Enjoy, -P |

PF here is a link with a good study done on filters. Mobil 1 seems to be the winner on this study. I cant find any data comparing the K&N and Mobile 1 http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/oil_filter_study/ |

That link has been around for years. K&N and Mobil 1 are both made by Champion Labs I believe. The K&N oil filter is apparently of very high quality. PureOne and Mobil 1 are sold at my local places so that's what I will be buying. -P |

Also good. They are rebadged WIX. The Mobil 1 an PureOne offer superior filtration, but at a much higher cost. -P |
