Heya everyone, My 94' Discovery has a pretty decent beam pattern on low beam coming from the headlamps, Its the standard new US car that goes something like __________ _______/ I currently have my lights relayed with heavy duty connectors and am running 80/100 w H4's in there so see if the plastci reflector can handle the heat. I think it should do fine as its a large light. But running 80/130's would be nice. Also, while the low pattern is not bad (But my Audi with E-code is better) the highs are not that great. I'm wondering what differences THe Euro discovery's have in the light housing. If its a drop in replacement that would be great. Also, do the Euro Lenses have a replaceable lens? And are they all metal or Plastic as well? And do they let out more light? Thanks Todd Phenneger |

They are a drop-in replacement to the standard DOT headlamps. The main difference is that the light pattern seems to be more concentrated to the center with sharper cutoffs. The DOT lamps are more of a scattered pattern. |

E-code headlights have a pattern that resembles this:
As opposed to the "backwards Z" shape of the DOT beams. The rise on the right is supposed to aid in reading road signs. It works! I run E-codes on all of our other cars and love 'em. The only pain is come inspection time I have to swap them out to get passed. I've tried leaving them in, but it's hit or miss depending on who's actually doing the inspection. I've failed inspection a few times because of it, so it's just less hassle to swap them out, get the sticker, then put them back in. Disco's would be REAL easy to swap. Anyone know where to get them and how much they run? David |

Just get the IPF 90w/140w bulbs and call it a day. Can't get much brighter than that. James |

I ran 110/130 bulbs (with DOT lamps) and it still made a huge difference when I switched to E code lamps - much more defined beam FWIW Bill |

E-Code lamps rock!!! I just got em from Nathan for my '95 Disco and I can't believe the difference! And talk about easy install, no tools required! The only part that needed tools was removing the front brush bar. If you don't have a front brush bar it's even that much easier! Get em and don't fry your wiring with huge draw bulbs. I think 80/100 is safe and I can't imagine anyone needing more light than this! Oh and, Nathan is THE MAN!!! |
