Hello all, I've been experiencing a loss of power steering here lately, the problem seems to usually occur while at interstate speeds, but that is where I'm at most of the time unfortunately. The fluid level is fine. If I stop the engine and let it sit for a minute or so, ABRA-CA-DABRA, it works again. I plan on flushing out the fluid and replacing it this weekend, but other than that, any ideas or has anyone had a similar problem? Thanks in advance.. Robert |

I would check the belt tension first, which may be slipping at high speeds. Otherwise you might be looking at the pump itself. Randall |

yes it sounds like the pump could be going..check the belt tension..if it is the pump make sure it is not completly dead...you will burn out your steering box |

Jmon, how can you burn your steering box with non-functioning p/s pump? (however, you can ruin your pump with a binding steering) peter |
