Has anybody added tie downs to the rear cargo area of their Discos? I have found that there is nothing to tie things to, and stuff just rolls around.

Thanks

I added some to my D1. I had to pull up the carpet and padding, drill throught the floor and riveted them in there. they are nice to hav.

Jeremy,

Here's some pics of what I did. I drilled and mounted 4 d-rings and ran braided wire through them to make a loop.

If you go to your local Chevy dealer, the rear cargo tie downs for the Yukon (I think) are about $7 each and are nice.

do you have a D1 or D2? I know on a D1 there are stock threaded holes in the rear floor. I forget the size, but I used them to attach my tie-downs.

These are pretty nice. You can remove the rings so that they aren't in the way when not in use..

Jeff what size are those bolts?
Big enough for the the d1 holes (7/16s I think)?

I found the bolts after the fact, but they would have worked if I had known they were there.

Mike,

When you find out the bolt size Please post it here, as well as your final solution for the actual tie down.

I'm sure it will be appreciated,

Thanks

Trevor

can you find 11/16 fine eye bolts? Or what do you use? I thought 7mm fit in there and a 5/16 eye bolt with a little push.for the front tie downs I think I'm still looking today.

Over in the wanted section Hank mentioned he was adding some Chevy Blazer tie downs, has anyone else used these tie downs?
