I came across a service bulletin to rover dealers (bull. # G97-027) that states that the requirement for filter replacement has been reduced to once over the lifetime of the trans. The change is to be performed at the 30- thousand mile service. All land rover products equipped with the ZF auto trans., do not need to service trans. after that point unless there is reason to believe that the fluid has become contaminated.
Has anyone seen this or has this been a topic here before. Supposedly this bulletin comes from ZF. I dont know the release date. I know mine was done @ 30k and I was going to service mine this weekend @ 60k. I guess it cant hurt but it sure is a pain in the a**.

It is true. all the books for the new trucks say "one time only" filter change at 30k.
