Put my '99 D1 in the shop for a brake job and had them replace the belt and check fluids, hoses, etc. while they had it. Noticed the tach was acting up. Checked the archives and saw it could be due to the routing of the belt. Lo and behold, I just checked the diagram one of you provided, toodled out to the garage and it's routed wrong...DAMN! How/what do I loosen to correct it? I'd also read on another post that the tension can affect the tach...how do I know if the tension is correct?

Mary - you'll need a 17mm wrench to slack the self-tensioner to remove the belt. Just remove it, reroute it and then slack the tensioner again to install.

It is self-tensioning - so you'd don't have to worry about that.
