Hey guys. I picked up a pair of Hella 500s and took of my front air dam with fog lights. So, now I have the connection sitting in with my headlights, which I know is bad. I would like to maybe use that exisiting wiring, if I can, but I don't know how. I don't even know how to correctly splice into the wire. The only problem is that I know with the factory fogs you cannot have them on with high beams, and I would like to correct this as well. I'm pretty sure I could figure out the standard Hella installating with all their compenents, but would like to avoid it, as it looks pretty cheesy. I am absolutely terrible with the electric side of things, and do not understand much of it, so the more help you have time to provide, the better. Thank you very much. I appreciate it. |

If you have limited knowledge I would not attempt any of this on your own. What I did was to make up a completely new harness to power the 500's. It's not that difficult but you need a little knowledge of relays etc. If you look in the tech. section there is an article on wiring foglights. I adapted that diagram using one relay and no switch. Each time I fire up the high beam then the 500's go on. I did this by splicing the relay into the high beam wire as the trigger. Good luck. www.worst4x4.freeservers.com |
