Poor mileage due to you having disco-nected the vac line. You have no advance. Fix it to get that power and mileage back to normal! Cheers-doug james |

Doug , you're the man ! thanks I sent a reply to your message on your initial post . That sounds like good advice . I'm sure the other readers who are experiencing the same mileage could benefit from the same inspection . Just curious if you know why the previous R.O. or Mechanic would have done that . No real reason to disco-nect it. If it has failed due to heat cycling, which kills the internal rubber diaphram, it simply doesn't do its' little mechanical motion, pulling the ignition plate a little to advance the firing pulse. They are easy to replace, but most folks do not diagnose it correctly, so they simply don't know it's failed. Mine was out when I purchased my RR, and the dealer was gonna buy a whole new distributor! Even they don't get it most of the time !! Happy Rovering- doug |
