To reset code. Switch On the radio- "CODE" symbol appears in the display. Press one of the tuning buttons to select the 1st digit of the security code. Press pre-set button 1 to store the 1st digit in the unit's memory. Use a tuning button to select the second digit of the code. Press pre-set 1 to store the second digit. Select the third digit, again using the tuning buttons. Press pre-set 1tore the third digit. Select final digit ( the display will now show a full four digit code) Press pre-set 1 to store the final digit. If the correct code is entered, a double two tone bleep will sound and the radio will operate. It wrong code is entered a warning tone will sound and the first time delay period commences. Hope this solves your prob. |

Huh? On my 1997 D1 the radio is turned on and displays "CODE" then I press the radios code in without storing anything. Just key in the 5 digits one after the other and it works every time. If you get the code wrong 3 times, leave the radio on for an hour without touching any of the buttons and try again. Ron Ward |

Disco Obsession, I think you must have another radio in mind... It's not that complicated. The procedure that Ron describes is correct. David |

The instructions came 'word for word" from my Geniune Landrover Leather bound owner's Handbook. The radio installed in mine is Factory fitted, geniune Rover and is made by Eurovox for Rover. May be you guys in the States have a diffent radio fitment. Mine is an Australian truck. I do admit that your way is a lot simpler and obviuosly more straight forward. |

just punch it in when you see "code". if you mess up too many times it will lock you out. the more you mess up the longer it locks you out. the only way to resolve this is leave the radio powered on for 4-24hrs to clear itself. I just had to do this at the stereo shop. |
