Are Bilsteins that much better than OME shocks? What makes them so good? Which have a longer travel? Just wondering |

I don't think its a matter of which is better between the OME and Bilsteins. They are both well made shocks. The Bilsteins are a bit firmer and use a different technology than the OME. The OME HD would be my choice for primarily off-highway use (I had OMEs for 2 years) but I prefer the taut ride the Bilstein give me on the road. Neither shock gives much more travel than stock. If you want long travel shocks, either go the cheap route with Rancho 9000, or open your wallet for the good stuff from Bilstein, King, or other off-road specialty shock. You will have to modify your shock mounts to use these types of shocks. -P |
