At 4wheelparts.com they offer combo's that claim to give you up to 70 HP's & 25 % MPG increase. Has anyone tried anything like this on a D1 or are there other alternatives?

Gibson Exhuast, Hypertech Programmer, Procomp Air Intake & a Gibson Header or a Bulldog Down Pipe.

Sorry, you won't see 70hp of bolt on performance on a disco! For the exhaust, header, downpipe, and intake, the performance gains would be due to replacing a restrictive part with a less-restrictive part. What do all of these have in common...the provide entrance and exit of gasses to/from the heads. If you do not do any head work (porting, polishing, valve-job, bigger valves), then you are still stuck with the stock, restrictive heads, and the low duration/lift camshaft. For any of these parts to have a marked effect on performance, you need the heads ported and a camshaft that is suited for the head-flow, compression ratio, and RPM range. Then after you bolt everything together, you might have a semi-matched combination that would yield some performance gains. As for the Hypertech programmer, doesn't a chip cure all of your problems? If you are shopping for a chip, look into RPi; all they do is Rover V-8's.
BTW, a 25% increase in MPG might be 4 mpg...you can easily get that kind of increase by setting the cruise control and driving 65mph. Not that better mileage isn't possible through modifications, but when you increase your engine's performance through a higher state of tune, you typically lose mpg. The Disco's disadvantages include it's enormous weight and it's non-aerodynamic body, so anything you do short of converting to a Turbo Diesel will yield minimal gains in mpg.
(one last thought: the ONLY bolt-on item guaranteed to offer a 70+/- HP gain is a nitrous oxide system...though your MPG and engine longevity may vary)

Wrong..
There is an Eaton setup for Rovers as well as an Autorotor. I ran the eaton for two years. needless to say I sold it and bought a 4.6....

Dump the Blower and add a mild cam 350 crate motor
