Hey, Just bought a 1995 disco 300TDi (live in Scotland) and was looking for the UK Disco owners club...stumbled upon you guys instead!! Anyhow, I was wondering what your advice is about retro-fitting sunroofs? It doesnt have any right now and I cant decide whether I should risk a non dealers hatchet job or a dealers high prices...anyone got experience of this? |

I haven't had it done with a Disco, but I did have my dealer add an aftermarket sunroof in my wife's new Freelander. It came out nice, the only difference is that the switch is mounted in the roof instead of in the dashboard. I actually like it better that way, it makes more sense to me ergonomiaclly. The sunroof was ordered as a dealer option when the car was bought new, so it is covered for the entire warranty period as well. |

I have a HEBASTO aftermarket sunroof. I aint too great, water falls in after rain and the prev. owner left it open throughout a thunderstorm discoloring the ceiling...I'd get it done at the dealership, spare no expense on your ROOF! |

I do not like sunroofs. On my 1996 Discovery, both sunroofs have been replaced twice (under warranty) for faulty motors and/or rails and/or leaking. What a pain in the a**. Now I'm out of warranty. So far, so good, but what if they fail again? If I had it to do over again, I would buy a Discovery (or any other vehicle for that matter) without sunroofs. |
