I have seen posts that state there have been at least a couple of recalls on the 99 D2. I purchased a 99 D2 in September with 27K on it - now 30K. What recalls have been issued? I'm taking it to the dealer$hip next week for the 30K service. I want to ask them if they can make sure all of the recalls have been done.

Thanks.

A/C condensation line needs to be re-routed away from tranny breather tube, idler pulley needs to be checked, radiator should be checked for pinhole leaks, exhaust valves may stick slightly. I think that's about it. Mine's a '00 and had these items corrected. Other than that, no problems. Good luck.

I've got a 99 D2, and here's the list from my service reports:

ABS relay
Brake resevoir filter
power seat mechanism (FX11047LW) - washer?
Alarm motion sensor

idler pulley failure, which caused the following:
cmp sensor failure
evap canister vent valve
camshaft sensor
throttle body gasket (3 times)
a/c pulley and pwr steering cover
serpentine belt and cover

If they have records, they can tell what's been done to the vehicle I believe.

Thanks guys.

Mike,

Are all of those first five items dealer recalls? Or are they things that have just crapped out?

Those were dealer recalls i had them done to. Also for anybody with leather seats (99 DII) if they look like they are "shedding" or have little hairs coming through them the dealer will put all new skins in for you

Thanks Ken. I do in fact have that problem with the seats. I would have never known it was a recall. New leather seats sure will smell good.

Yea! it wasn't actually a recall but they will take care of it for you.

does the shedding of the leather seats only apply to the 99 or does it also apply across the board for the following years...like the 00 also.

if your seats are doing it they will fix it I just said 99 cause thats what I have and I wouold have figured since they have new skins developed that they would have had it done to 00 cars but with the way production dates run who knows. Call them up and ask

My 99DII seats are shedding with little strands of leather coming out. Can you give me more information / ammo to confront the dealer about the problem. Maybe the recall number or something.

it wasn't an actual recall but it is somthing that the dealers are aware of and will fix for you. Just go to the dealer they will look at it and order new skins for you. It's that simple. They won't give you a hard time at all.
