Howdy, all. Love this site and now I have a question. Now that the extended warranty on my '97 Disco (5-speed) has run out, I'm thinking about finding a dependable mechanic (who knows Discos) rather than going to my dealer. Any recommendations? I live in SE Mass, but am willing to travel for the right guy (or gal!).
Do such people really exist or is it usually better to stick with the dealership folks?
Thanks for any advice...

Contact Alan Elliott, Cityside Garage www.citysidegarage.com
508 429 4336
He is in Holliston.

There is or was a place in Plymouth (?Reimels) that specialized in Series...unsure of their involvement in current vehicles

Thanks for that, Chris.
Have you used either of them before? How do they compare with Hanover?

hey Rich, try Out of England Rovers Ltd near Worcester, great shop and seems to be real reasonable, comes highly recommended by Atlantic British and Rovers North and I recently had my 97 RR and my wifes 2000 Disco there and treated me real well, I think they have a site but you can call them at (508)865-3483 and they also have a rover computer there as well, good luck .

Rich,

Ah ha, I'm glad you asked this question! I have a guy for you - Gary Bissanette at Jim's Automotive in Hanover, right across from McGee Toyota and not far from the Hanover dealership.

He is a great mechanic with fair prices and a true Rover fanatic. He recently restored his Series IIA Military Lightweight just like my brother's, and has a great rep with SE Mass Rover owners in general.

He just did my panhard rod bushings on my "Deathsco" because I don't have a press, and he did a ton of other little things for me as well. Give him a try, and tell him Chuck McGovern sent ya...

Ride On,
Chuckster
