i have a little rattle...seems to be coming from the part of the exhaust under the driver passenger area...i don't know much about exhaust systems...but its the big oval deal...the catalytic converter maybe...i just know this word...so i am guessing...it sounds like metal to metal....thanks, jess |

is your rig running quiet otherwise, or do you have excessively loud exhaust roar? If so, you could have some loose exhaust component bolts. if it's quiet except for the metallic rattle, it's probably just your cat(s). |

See the post earleir today down below about the exhaust heat shield - it can make quite a rattle, and is on top of the main muffler (the "big oval deal" - the cats are two smaller items upstream on the exhaust system between the exhaust manifods and the muffler). |

I have a rattling sound on my Disco at one time. I replace the CATS and it took it to the dealer, they change the oil pump and still making a rattling sound. What happened is the heat shield underneath by the engine and below the catalytic converter. TO avoid necessary expense check your heatshield. |

check the bolts from the Y-pipe to mid-pipe. if it sounds like rocks in a coffee can, tap the cats with a rubber mallet. |
