After having the local dealer look at my alarm @ 100 bucks an hour , and still not fixing the damn thing I asked them to just dissable it and I would purchase an aftermarket system. The service co-ordinater said that they cant and wont dissconnect the system. has anyone done this to there Disco's, and is it a hard thing to do ? Just intrested because at 100 bucks per hour it add's up fast. |

What's wrong with the alarm system? I recently had trouble with the door actualtor in the front left (driver's side) door. The alarm would get set off since the lock button wouldn't fully depress because the solinoid in the actuator died. The alarm would activate and think the door was unlocked and the alarm would go off. The fix was a new door lock actuator ($180 - ouch!). That was it since I diagnosed and fixed the problem myself. For your situaltion: 1. What is wrong with the alarm system? 2. Figure out what is causing it 3. Fix or replace it This should not be to hard if you have a D1. Dave |

Thats an expensive fix Dave....Im thinking its the actuator as well , since I dont have any power locks at the moment. Realy pisses me off spending a whole day at the dealer and still having the same troubles. |
