I just ordered LR HD springs and Bilstein shocks. I have the factory brush bar. Should the springs give me a 2" lift? Will this be an even ride height? I want to get the ARB with the winch. Will I have to change the front springs? I have no problem cutting the rear wheel well (still not sure how much to cut)But with this setup can 235/80 work? |

Hi! With LRHD springs you get a lift about 1.6".This will be an even right height. all the OME lifts got also not 2"lift,specially with other bumpers and winch in front. When you use 235/80 you got a total lift over 2",cause these tires are about1" higher than stock and you dont need to trimm the rear fender, but don`t disconnect rear swaybar! If you want disconnect please look at tech how to relocat rear fender. so i do got a Disco I TDI300 built in 96 with LRHD surround and stock spacers about 1.6".I put 235/85 on it and got a total lift about 4.6". No problems with the driveline cause i bought a new one from DiscoII Hope that helps you just a little! greatings from Germany! -OTTO- |

I hate to sound like so many others, but if you have already ordered most of the parts, why are you asking for suggestions as to what you should have bought? sounds like you're setting yourself up for misery. I would not have gone with the LR springs. I'll bet you didn't even weigh your truck before you boldly went out and bought your springs. Without such information and some indication as to how much your truck weighs, what you intend to do with it, nor how much cargo you carry, it is virtually impossible to determine what you needed. With your comment that you want a big heavy bumper, this becomes even more of a concern as the bumper will significantly change your suspension geometry and response. Yes, you will likely need new front springs if you get the big bumper. That said, I personally am a fan of Rover Tym. Great products and better customer service. You did at least buy a good set of shocks, however, I'm not all that impressed with mine as the change was not as dramatic as I'd been told it would be. As for tires, I run the BFG T/A All-Terrains and am very pleased with them on and off-road. I believe that Ho said it best-the 235/85-16 are the mark of the Disco Jedi... |
