Anyone have that wheezy, whistly intake ? sound that increases on acceleration when engine is warm, or surrounding air temp is warm ? - I live in Texas, so it's "warm" a lot, and so she wheezes a lot. Doesn't seem to affect performance though. Unless the previous owner fitted a well hidden supercharger somehwere, I remain baffled. |

You sure it is not the T-case? Does it change pitch when you downshift or no? |

I didn't think of that. Pitch changes with engine speed change both up & down. It just sounds more like it's coming from the engine area, but its hard to tell. I don't see any loose vac hoses, and the plenum chamber looks soundly affixed. |

Rob, make sure it is not a gasket leaking. I had the same whistling noise start on mine and came to find out that it was weeping coolant and oil. Had to replace head, intake and valve gaskets. Actually the whistling was coming from the coolant level being low. Once I topped off the coolant tank, it went away. But it came back again, once it lost enough coolant. Hope that helps out. |

Thanks Mike, Coolant and oil levels seem to be ok. I've had the beast 3 months now and have not had to top up the coolant. I thought of possible head gasket leak, but no performance loss, no milky coolant colour, overheating etc. |
