I you live in a generally cool climate, and you add a couple of pieces, a large reduction in engine noise, some increase in available power, a little quicker warmup. Removing the radiator shrouds will help air to flow over a larger area of radiator if the fan is not there.

I would add a thermostat switch to the water somewhere that would switch in the AC fans if the temp gets up past say 60% gauge reading - just need to locate the ac fan relay, and fire that if temp rises too high. If you just screw off the fan and viscous unit, and carry it with you while off road, it only takes a few minutes to refit it, just as insurance.

To add to JP comments, If you do allot of wet off-roading and mudding don't go electrics, Also look at sites like Summit Racing or Jegs and get a quality fan designed for HD off-road use, this is one area you don't want to be frugal with

check D-90 source, i think that's where i saw install of a custom radiator and electric fan. A flexalite 210 would work also (they largely go by the size of your radiator). I gonna switch soon. For mudding, i think its a little better. You can shut it off, and avoid having all that mud, aka whale shit, all over your engine.
