Time for a new set of rubber alround. Here is my two I have picked. Yokohama geolander a+11 or Dunlop at's. The Dunlops becuase there on sale, but my first pick would be the Geolander's. There many for street use and very mild off roading. Well I may venture off the beaten track a few times lol. Thanks guy's |

I have had the Dunlops for only a couple thousand miles now. I like the tires--quiet on the road, no traction issues for the mild off-roading I do, and they will even drag me through snow (sliding on the undercarriage)--as long as I keep them turning. I am still fiddling with tire pressures, but I have noted more of a tendency require steering correction. In their defense, these are load range E tires--a LOT more casing than I need. I too, got a deal (I think)--the set of four, mounted and balanced: $400.00 |

It's been awhile, but in the past we've never had good experience with Yokies. (Like Kyle was referring to,) for us, it was always sidewall damage. Haven't shopped around for tires in a year, so FWIW ... Kim |

Hey, I like butter! Seriously though, I have the Geo's, but haven't really used them in anything other than loose and hard dirt along wild mild rocks. On-road they are awesome. Very comfortable and no road noise what-so-ever. I did get the road hazard coverage which includes off-roading though. |

I've been offroad a fair amount on the Yokos in VT/NH granite and so far they have held up nicely. I would attribute it mostly to a light foot and good spotters. They are as bad as every other AT in mud, AWESOME in sand and loose stuff. I am a bit leary of the sidewall thickness. Onroad, they are super quiet, great in the snow, and wear well for a soft tire. I got 60k on the first set and have about 15k on this second set that are on the Disco and show very little signs of wear. If you are looking for something a bit more agressive and tougher, take a look at the Cooper ST or the Dunlop RV(forget the AT). Also if you would like to see for yourself how they are on a Disco, shoot me an email. I'm in the NY/NJ Metro area. Good luck, Neil 94 D90 #1092 97 Disco |
