Apparently my LR factory trailer wiring convertor broke. The left turn signal is not working, but it does have 12 volts on it, as long as there isn't a load, I tried to get a new one, but apparently, they are on national back-order (maybe because they tend to break :-) ) So, I bought a universal one at pep boys.

What I plan on doing is cutting the plug off of my current adaptor so I can plug that directly into the LR wiring harness and then attach the new adaptor to that. The big question is... Does anyone have a wiring diagram to double check against?

Thanks

Apparently no one cares... :) but...

the hookup of the aftermarket adapter was easy, I cut the connector to the factor harness off of the bad adapter and then hooked up the wires, it turned out that the wire colors matched the adapter colors.

Hey Stecz, 2 questions: What was the brand/model number of the universal adapter. Also, on my old Chevy P/U, the wiring came out the bottom...where does the wiring come out of while hooked to a trailer? I understand it's underneath the pass side corner by the tail light on the INSIDE of the truck. BTW, 95 Disco

hmmm, not sure the make and model of the adapter, it's the cheapest one from pep boys. They had several, one had a lead coming from the battery for power (so the trailer lights weren't being powered from the truck light harness, it is just used for signaling). that seemed like overkill, and they had one that has integral with the plug, I didn't use that one.

The adaptor is hooked to the factory trailer harness in the passenger side rear light compartment and there is a grommet at the bottom of the compartment and that is where the wires exit and then I ran them over by the hitch. The plug wouldn't fit through the hole, so I cut off the plug then resoldered them after I passed them through the hole.
