Just bought a '01 Discovery. The brakes seem too soft. Dealer says this is neccessary for off-roading. OK. But they also seem to be full of air. That is - the first push on the pedal and they go 3/4 of the way to the floor, 2nd push takes me 1/2 way to the floor and 3rd push 1/4 of the way. Is this normal? Only 15K mi. on the car. TIA. Sounds to me like your dealer is full of crap... If your brake pedal is soft and pumps up as you describe, you've got air in the system that needs to be bled out. I'd insist that they fix the problem, or find yourself a more accomodating dealer. You should still be under warranty. Brakes are far too important to mess around with. Remember, slow is more important than go... David |
