I just purchased the kit to fix the dash. Does anybody out there have any tips/instructions on how to do it your self. The dealer wanted $100. Rossie |

It's not too bad really - just make sure you invest in a geared, offset screwdriver with the proper sized torx bit. It makes it a lot easier to get the screws in straight. Good luck Scott |

Use 1-1/8 inch drywall screws to hold the dash down in between the trim screw holes - that's what the dealer told me, and it worked fine - there is nothing beneath to worry about running into. The torx screws on the trim piece alone are not large enough to hold the dash down against the curl. An appropriately-sized nail heated with a propane torch and held with vice grips will melt pilot hole for the screws at the far right and left where there isn't enough clearance from the windshield to drill (and I used a right-angle drill). Not a difficult job, and the end result looks much nicer than the curl! Good luck. John |

Hey John, So you used both the LRNA Dash Repair Kit, and the DryWall screws, or just the drywall screws, tad confused... |

Sorry about the confusion. Use both. First, securely screw down the bulges in the dash with the drywall screws, positioning them between the holes in the trim kit. Be careful to put them where the trim kit will hide them, and not where they are in the way of any of the holes for the trim kit. This will hold down the existing bulges. Then install the trim kit to hide these screws, and hold down the rest of the edge of the dash that has not bulged yet. John |
