I am running a D2 with CDL and TT in the rear. My past few outings I get this loud creak when the rear axle is articulating and under power. This is not your usual suspension creak, but a sound that reminds me of metal galling under extreme pressure. It is in circumstances where it seems that the TT is engaging and ETC is offsetting the spinning wheel (i.e. was going to slip, but not doing it). There are no other drivability symptoms and this only seems to occur during some pretty demanding circumstances. Best case scenario is that I have a bolt on the sway bar or Watts link a little loose. My other concern is that it is a half shaft twisting up or something in the diff. Does anybody here recall a similar noise during these circumstances? Any breakages? Other ideas? Thanks! Curtis |

Curtis, you sure it's not the sound of the TT engaging? Mine makes all sorts of noises when engaging. chu |

Chu, Maybe it is. I really do not know. It does only tend to happen in agressive situations. It would also sort of make sense with ETC cancelling the spinning wheel. It sounds to me like something shredding back there. Did you get some creak-like noises from yours on your latest Moab jaunt? Curtis |

Yeah, I hear that creaking noise too. I'll bet it's your TT. I finally got my truck back working, so I'll tell you more after I hit some moguls this weekend. chu |

Are you still running your rear sway bar? |

Nope, no sway bars. I had the front when I ran in moab, but it got torn off halfway through. Makes sense though, since the TTs will mostly engage when you are flexed and losing traction on the dropped wheel. chu |
