My rear window where my boots hang over the rungs of the ladder and bump the glass is getting very scratched! Like the rear window is toast (ruined). Any ideas on this one!?

First, I would secure the boots in some other fashion, then I would buy this used Disco rear window that I have collecting dust in the back of my shop! The glass is in Baltimore and could be purchased for the princely sum of $40, plus freight.
Interested?

I don't think he is hanging his boots on the ladder, I think he means his boots hit the window when he climbs up the ladder.

"secure the boots in some other fashion"

LOL, I have to admit that was my first thought, but then I realized . . . all that securing and removing the bridges has taken its toll on the rear glass.

Before Ho takes the first cheap shot, I suggest losing the bridges and so there is no more need to go up top and scratch the glass on the way

Moe,

The ladders are taken on and off without going on the roof rack. I love my bridges. Please say hi to your brother Shemp.

Carter,

Yes it's my boots that hit the glass and scratch the hell out of it. I am not sure what to do. Maybe some Disco Web stickers over the scratches.

Mike they sell kits to get rid of light scratches and scuffs in glass, they basically looked like they consisted of a couple of very light rubbing and polishing compounds. Ive never had any personal experience with any of this but I have seen the stuff places, cant remember exactly were -Lowes maybe??? You might even want to try just some light polishing compounds first, the whole kit thing might just be a sham.

Mike, I respect your love and would likely understand if I could see the passion in person, but please, what are you climbing up here for? I only see the bridges, wires and lights--maybe you like the view?

Carter,

Thanks, I will look into that.

Moe, I have no idea what you are talking about!

I suppose I shouldn't post after my bedtime :)

But I'm still wondering what you are going up and down the ladder so often? You must store a lot of vital gear up there!

I camp all summer and I also use the roof rack for my photography business (lots of gear).

So Moe,

It that your real name? I tried to name our son Shemp but my wife would not let me.
